Self illuminating material help needed

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 26, 2009, 4:06 AM

Hello to all!

I haven't been online a lot on DA recently. But im planning to get back soon and post new deviations. I have a question, im requesting a little help. Maybe this would sound lame from me a little bit as im not new to c4d but i haven't done anything like this before. I want to figure out how to make cool self illuminating materials in cinema 4d, and i don't know yet how to do that. Can anyone give me some clues? I hope so. :D

I am really curious about what kind of music my deviant friends listen to. I think it will be diversified. It's impossible to cover all the genres that are available nowadays. Please select a group, then write a comment to specify what you like!

hey ^^
thanks for your comment
I see your music and it's nice, i love shpongle too
I'm a DJ also but at DA i'd rather just show my visual abilities, so to say.
chillout music is so nice, I think it's underrated :( Most of my friends like dark psy or full-on because they are young and like to dance or so?
Are there nice parties in hungary? Nice gallery also
bye!
:iconblu3ph0rm:
Hi!

Thanks for the reply! :) Yea i think most of the younger people are more into faster and harder stuff than chill-out. But psychedelic chill-out is underrated anyway. Not too many people listen to it even if they are not that young in my opinion. I dont get it why, because these chillout stuff are full of really valuable wonderful gems. I'm not into full on or dark-psy i used to like goa and a bit of fullon when i was younger.
I suppose there are some nice parties over here too, one of the best or maybe the best is Ozora festival. [link]
Last time there was Solar Fields, Aes Dana, Shpongle just to name a few, really nice names huh? :)
But im not that big party guy, although these chillout gengres mean the life to me, i dont really go to parties, i just like to listen to them at home and on the way.
Plus i always listen to music when i create something, it inspires me a lot.
Bye!:)

yeah it's very nice music
i have also made a chillout song with my husband, but we don't have a name for the band yet :( it's kind of inspired to seahorse transform's 'dust from a trip' album, check it out if you don't know the music allready, very nice album :) Yes I know ozora festival, some of my friends visit the festival every year, they go by train all the way to hungary. I'd like to go there next year, but I don't have a lot of money, because hungary seems an interesting country, i got a hungarian neighbour and also hungarian friend :D (in holland lots of different cultures live togheter)
Solar fields and Aes Dana are also very nice, and inspiring.

it's also too bad that when I visited alot of parties like 2-3 years ago, there always was a chillout area, and nowadays there almost isn't any in here.

I think it;s music is genius most of the time, so many layers of music, and still sounding so chill :D
hope you have a nice day, bye bya :D
:iconblu3ph0rm:
Hi,

Thanks for the tip on seahorse album i dont know it yet, but im gonna definitely check it out. Was your music released in any form? :) I would gladly check out that too! I hope if you come to Hungary next year, you will have a great time and enjoy your trip here! :)
It doesnt sound too well that the chillout areas are missing recently. I can't understand why the party organizers do it this way. :(
By the way you said you were a dj, is there a mix from you that is available on the internet somewhere? :)

Have a nice day/night you too!

Bye :D

Hello there :)
I've been playing with R11.5 for the past couple days. I've learned all that I knew :D And I've started making simple animations as well. It is very similar to 3ds when animating, which is good. And I've learned how to make any picture, for example a picture of a keyboard, in Photoshop a flat 3D object in C4D. Sorry if that is confusing :/ lol
Anyways, I really want to make a simple animation like those at the beginning of movies. but my own thing. Now that I know how to animate easily, this seems very possible, but I am sure it is very hard as well.
But I've found a new interest in drawing freehand. Old school, I know lol :P
So we'll see what I can come up with. Hopefully I will have something to submit soon. I really don't like using C4D for days without ending up with something to submit. But it is ok, a great way to learn :D

What have you been up to, in C4D and in general?

Bye :)

Hi,

i dont really get this one:
"And I've learned how to make any picture, for example a picture of a keyboard, in Photoshop a flat 3D object in C4D."
Animating is good but on the other hand it takes so much time to render an animation. :( I was doing short animations with 90 maximum 140 frames in 480x360 resolution, or something like that and it takes hours to render it. I just dont have time for this.
So im moving back to still images. But if anyone wanna buy me an eight core computer, i wont refuse it!!!!!!!! :D
Well i have done some new stuff but not too much lately. maybe i will post something new. I also should continue working on my spaceship project. :) I have not been working on it for a time.

What I mean by that is, i can take a 2d shape, like an outline, of anything and make it 3D now. I'll see if I can find something on the net that explains it...
Here we go :D [link]

lol it's fun and very simple. not good for actual 3D object, for it makes the surface flat :(

and yea, I've noticed how long animations take too! And I rendered them in the wrong format lol. So i can't even watch the first ones I've made :P

Could you maybe send me what you have so far on your spaceship project? I'm really curious to see it, even if it's not finished :D

I need to start a project. I think it'd be fun to put lots of time in effort into a single thing, instead of spreading my time around on small objects
